JOHN CARMICHAEL
John Carmichael was born in 1930. He studied in Paris and London before embarking on a colourful career encompassing music therapy; he also travelled as an accompanist for an international Spanish Dance company Eduardo Y Navarra.
Works for the piano are central to his output, with Concierto Folklorico for piano and orchestra one of his best known compositions. Prominent soloists such as James Galway have championed his Phoenix Flute Concerto, with John Wallace more recently performing and recording his Trumpet Concerto.
