This concert is part of the London Song Festival
Friday October 25th, 7pm
St George’s Hanover Square, 2A Mill St, Mayfair, London W1S 1FX
Join Australian singers Samantha Crawford, winner of the Wagner Society Singing Competition and Berliner International Competition, and Victoria Hodgkinson, Kohn Bach Scholar at Royal Academy of Music, as they explore the riches of Australian art song. They will be performing songs composed by Roy Agnew, Don Banks, Brett Dean, Wendy Hiscocks and others.
Australian literature also features with David Martin’s description of an outback Australian Christmas and Michael Leunig’s popular texts both witty and wise read by actress Ann Holme as well as set to music in Brett Dean’s Poems and Prayers.
Samantha and Victoria will be joined by pianist Wendy Hiscocks and Chi-Yu Mo, co-principal clarinettist with the London Symphony Orchestra and professor at the Royal Academy of Music.
And what better way to top it all off than with a glass of Australian wine?
