Imagine, you’re eight years old, you’ve been taken out of school for months and it’s your first trip beyond the shores of Australia. The memories were so vivid that it resulted in the text of Libretto of the Eight Year being written many years later by the composer at the request of a friend with whom she was staying with in New York. It was the journey of a lifetime that opened up a whole new world.
