ABOUT

The Elegy’s anonymous poem, sometime ascribed to the American Makah tribe, was given to the composer after the death of her month-in-law Trudl Howat in 1993. Trudl’s spirit of light and adventure is well reflecting in verse, and in setting it to music the composer was able to express her own feelings of thanks and of fond farewell.
