Lunchtime Recital: Madeleine Mitchell
Violinist Madeleine Mitchell, “one of the UK’s liveliest musical forces” (The Times), and an engaging speaker as well as performer, introduces a stunning programme of solo violin works, ranging from classic Bach to some hauntingly beautiful short pieces written for her from her latest acclaimed album for Naxos, Violin Conversations “full of riches, beautifully played” (The Observer) and some poetry – expect something special for Valentine’s Day. This appealing music includes: Wendy Hiscocks Caprice, Joseph Horovitz Dybbuk Melody and Richard Blackford Worlds Apart (written for Madeleine during the pandemic) and Violon Rouge for violin and soundscape by Dr Susannah Self.
Madeleine will be signing copies of her new album afterwards.
