Guitars and Old Biscuits

,

Who would have thought that an old biscuit factory in Bermondsey would provide the most perfect informal candlelit setting to listen to fine music, while drinks and small pizzas are brought to your table.

Bermondsey’s Shortwave Café is the newest addition to the London arts and events scene converted from the historic Peek Frean’s Biscuit Factory into a lively café, bar, venue and gallery.

And it is here that the Laureate of top international competitions, Andrey Lebedev – the acclaimed Australian classical guitarist – will presents a fascinating evening of music in this extraordinary venue.

Andrey Lebedev has an insatiable curiosity to explore new avenues of music making, and this programme features music by Australian composers, music inspired by that great country and classics from the guitar world to make a wonderful evening of terrific music.

In addition to music by Australian composers Brett Dean, Peter Sculthorpe and Phillip Houghton, the programme will also features guitar duos with International Guitar Foundation (IGF) Young Artists Platform guitarist Jack Hancher.
